Mike Huckabee among the top choices in latest Israel Factor Update

The Israel Factor has posted their latest numbers on potential 2012 presidential candidates. The data shows that those on the panel are leaning towards a Republican candidate. Rudy Giuliani who continues to top their list, is still their preferred candidate, although they have indicated they do not think he will be running.

In November I wrote about the Israel Factor Panel in my post, Huckabee, a True Friend to Israel. The panel started up again in October after a two year furlough. Among the many American-Israeli political assessments they make is which potential presidential candidate would be best for Israel. In their latest rankings and with the panel viewing Giuliani as not running, Romney (6.0), Pawlenty (5.8), and Huckabee (5.75) top the panel’s list.  Numbers are based on what the candidates have said and how news they make has affected Israel in the last month.

Huckabee spoke at the Beit El dinner on December 5th  and his speech received great reviews within the Jewish community both in Manhattan and in Israel. The panel’s Nov/Dec rankings are below.

Question: Looking ahead for 2012 – please rate the following possible Presidential candidates on scale of 1 (bad for Israel) to 10 (good for Israel)

Mike Huckabee will be leading a tour through Israel at the end of January. On his last tour, he attended private meetings with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, President Shimon Peres, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. We will have to wait and see if Huckabee’s upcoming trip makes a difference in their February ranking.

  1. TexasConservative. I love this blog. You are doing an excellent job of bringing relevant Huckabee news and analysis to the fore. Thanks!

I do not see how any candidate could surpass Huckabee, truthfully, in positive understanding and policy toward Israel. He is a true friend of freedom and of Israel.
