Mike Huckabee gives Glimpse into Why His Heart said No

As the race for 2012 unfolds and Mike Huckabee is asked to give his opinion on the GOP candidates' platforms and strategies, Huckabee has given us small glimpses into why he decided against a run.

This exchange between Neil Cavuto and Mike Huckabee shows us one reason why his heart said NO.

Huckabee: "But what's the point if you can't look in the mirror and believe..."

Cavuto interrupts to say "to get to the White House."

Huckabee: "On what terms? And if you get there, and in some way you have to be dishonest to your own heart. Then just remember, that whatever you use to have to get there, is what you will have to continue to use to stay there. And it's just not worth it when it gets down to it. It's easier to walk away from a job that you want than to walk away from your own integrity and character."

Ed Rollins stated that he did have a path for Huckabee to win the nomination. But maybe Mike Huckabee thought the cost was too high and not worth it.

I think this is one of the reasons his heart said "NO."  And in doing so, Mike Huckabee has been able to expand his platform and continue to highlight the principles that got him into politics.

Mike Huckabee in the White House: An Administration of Tough Love

Mike Huckabee sat down with Neil Cavuto and talked about being honest with the American people on the budget cuts that are needed to get our country back on the fiscal right track.

"Either we are honest with the people of this country and tell them or.....We have to be the administration of tough love. Tough understandings on limits. If you take boundaries away from the spending capacity of a government it is totally out of control. That's what we have now."

* Advocate very strong cuts and then manage those cuts so it does not create huge holes for people.

* Likes Paul Ryan's Medicaid block grant program-give it back to the states. 

* It is possible to raise the rate at which people get into Medicare. Let's treat 60 like it is the new 40. Raise the eligibility to 70 for those who are under the age of 55 because people are living longer

Mike Huckabee sat down with Neil Cavuto and discussed Wisconsin's newly signed Union Bill and the upcoming protest. Democrats refused to do their constitutional duty to vote. Troubling that protest signs were calling it democracy when Democracy is elected representatives going into the chamber to vote. Some of these protesters showed anarchy-breaking windows and chaining doors together and disrupting the orderly flow of government.

* Shows Matthews has nothing to hit Christie over in terms of substance so take him on about his appearance.
*He has struggled with weight so much of own his adult life.
*How much Chris Christie weighs has no major barring on the kind of job that he does as the governor of New Jersey.
